Resumo

O artigo discute o possível impacto que as novas biotecnologias genéticas podem ter no conceito legal de parentalidade, inclusivamente à luz de seus desenvolvimentos históricos. Procurou-se avaliar os contornos de tal conceito nas situações em que os pais genéticos podem ser mais ou menos do que dois, podem ser do mesmo sexo ou nem sequer existir.
