Scope

ECR aims to disseminate the scientific work that has been developed in the areas of ​​Heritage Studies and Conservation and Restoration of Cultural heritage, assuming itself as platform for researchers and professionals in both national and international panorama.

Heritage Studies and Conservation and Restoration are epistemological domains of recent implementation, but in rapid development in the European scene. In the context of societies subject to profound changes, Cultural Heritage represents a resource whose conservation and valorization is essential, requiring new skills and new interdisciplinary approaches in response to contemporary challenges. In this Post-Digital Era, Heritage Studies are characterized, in their multiple aspects, by diversity and complementarity where emerging topics such as Digital Humanities, Green Conservation or Sustainable Management stand out, alongside the most traditional in the field of intervention in cultural heritage.

Thus, within the journal's objectives we can fit matters such as artistic and historical studies, the investigation of materials and technologies used in the production of cultural goods, innovative-driven conservation and restoration interventions, including specific techniques related to treatment, studies of theory and deontology of conservation and restoration, as well as studies that focus on the investigation of sustainable conservation strategies in their multiple aspects and on their social, ecological and economic impacts as well Also included are works on virtualization of cultural goods and their epistemology and reflections on heritage theory.
