The Fallacy of Colorism

Resumo
Este estudo discute as origens e crescente expansão do racismo, uma das mais poderosas construções sociais das ideologias hegemónicas com a sua função reguladora na determinação de valores humanos, sociais e comportamentais aceitáveis e não aceitáveis e sua categorização e hierarquização com a finalidade de definir sistemas de poder e privilégio. Discute também um dos seus mais perversos congéneres, colorismo, que juntamente com outros termos aparentemente menos condenáveis como xenofobia, chauvinismo e nacionalismo partilham da mesma ideologia de supremacia branca, poder hegemónico, e privilégio que podem mesmo ser adoptadas por quem, de entre as suas vítimas, se considere numa posição de poder, real ou virtual.
