The Market and Competition Law Review is now indexed in Scopus!

The entry of Market and Competition Law Review in this list recognises the excellence and relevance of the scientific content produced.

Founded in 2017 under the guidance of Professor Sofia Oliveira Pais, MCLR is dedicated to the study of matters related to the internal market and competition law.

According to Scopus, it is a "well produced and focused competition law journal, of interest to others in the field".

Over its ten editions, the MCLR has been consolidated as a relevant forum for scientific debate, contributing to a more effective application of the law in the areas of European Union Law. Its Editorial Board, as well as the list of authors who have been part of this project, includes some of the most prestigious names in the field.

We are honoured to announce that our Scientific Committee will welcome new members. 

Professor Michal Gal (University of Haifa, Israel), Professor David Bosco (Aix-Marseille University, France), Professor Antonio Robles Martin-Laborda (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain), Professor Anna Piszcz (University of Bialystok, Poland) and Professor Carmen Estevan de Quesada (Universitat de València, Spain) will join our team from Volume V, Issue 2 onwards. 

We are sure that these new elements will contribute to guarantee the continued excellence of our contents.

Editorial Board

We are proud to announce that from the next issue onwards Professor Pieter Van Cleynenbreugel (University of Liège) will take part as a member of the Editorial Board and will be the guest editor for Volume VI, issue 1. 

Pieter Van Cleynenbreugel is the Director of the Liege Competition and Innovation Institute, LLM Co-Director and a Professor at the University of Liège. 

Prior to this, Pieter worked as a professor at the Leiden University and as an invited professor at the Université Paris Dauphine.

Dr.ª Marta Teixeira Pires has been distinguished with the Associação Portuguesa de Direito Europeu's Award with the paper  “Civil liability inherent to cartelization measured by algorithms”.

This 1st edition of APDE's Award focuses on topics of the XXIX FIDE Congress which is scheduled to take place in the Hague between 3 and 6 November 2021.

Marta Pires reviewed the book of Professor Alexandr Svetlicinii “Chinese State Owned Enterprises and EU Merger Control", published in our latest issue (Vol. V, Issue 1).

Robertson, published author in Market and Competition Law Review, has been distinguished for presenting the best article with the "Best Junior Paper Award" during the 14th ASCOLA Conference 2019, entitled "Excessive Data Collection: Privacy Considerations and Abuse of Dominance in the Era of Big Data".

 Professor Caron Beaton-Wells, member of the Scientific Board of Market and Competition Law Review, has been appointed as a lay member of the Australian Competition Tribunal by the Australian Coalition Government for a period of five years.

Professor Alexandr Svetlicinii's article published in Market and Competition Law Review, Volume II, Issue I, entitled "The Acquisitions of the Chinese State-Owned Enterprises under the National Merger Control Regime of the EU Member States: Searching for a Coherent Approach" has been shortlisted for the 2019 Antitrust Writing Awards.
